In this year[edit timeline]
Around this year[edit timeline]
- Small numbers of Suloise, unwelcome elsewhere, settle in what would become the Pomarj. Its poor soil and terrain make it inhospitable. (LGG p.87)
- A band of Suloise massacre Flan tribesmen in what is now the Twisted Forest. Flan gods curse them to form pillars of stone, never to leave the hills. (Greyhawk Adventures p.96)
Notes
The exact date of the formation of the Twisted Forest is uncertain. Greyhawk Adventures p.96 attributes the story to a book written by Uhas of Neheli detailing the Suel people "immediately after" the Rain of Colorless Fire, and mentions the Suenha Hillls, a name for the Drachensgrab used by early Suloise colonists. Uhas was not a contemporary to the events, being a Keoish scholar during the Slumbering (49 CY to 278 CY).
Although the Suloise migrations began in -447 CY, the book cited (presumably Uhas' Chronicle of Secret Times) is said to begin its history immediately after the Rain of Colorless Fire, making the earliest date for the formation of the Twisted Forest -422 CY. Living Greyhawk Journal #4 p.12 describes how the conflict occurred among the Suel tribes who entered the Sheldomar valley, during which lesser Suel tribes were forced from the region. The Greychrondex estimates a date range of -442 CY to -400 CY.
