Arafeld is the high priest of the church of Heironeous in the Kingdom of Nyrond.
Description
[edit | edit source]By 64 years old in 585 CY, Arafeld began to weary, but had a proud and stern bearing. He is fresh faced, with a full head of steely grey hair and blue eyes.

History
[edit | edit source]Arafeld has been high priest of Heironeous in Nyrond for years, since before spring of 585 CY. He administers the church of Heironeous with a steely grip and berates anyone disagreeing with him. He supports Nyrond having strong armies at any cost, fearing it would otherwise fall to the enemies surrounding it, but was blind to Archbold's failings.[2] Junior priests of the church were furious with Arafeld's position, verging on causing a split in the church.[3]

[edit | edit source]Arafeld has owned plate mail +4, shield +2, a battleaxe +4, phylactery of faithfulness, mace of disruption, ring of mind shielding and a periapt of proof against poison +3.[1]
Relationships
[edit | edit source]Before the king's poisoning, and subsequent stroke and abdication in favor of crown prince Lynwerd, Arafeld was a strong supporter of Archbold III,[1] and regards the royal family as close to divinely sanctioned.[3]
In Living Greyhawk
[edit | edit source]Arafeld featured in the Living Greyhawk adventure Heironeous Conclusions (set in 594 CY) and was still high priest at the age of 70.
