Castle Sulafrait is a settlement on the Wild Coast. The castle is occupied by a "robber baron" in its earliest days and is fairly nondescript.[1][2] But in later years, it becomes known for being overrun by orcs and other humanoids during the Greyhawk Wars.[1]
History
[edit | edit source]During and after the Greyhawk Wars, Sulafrait is repeatedly occupied, liberated, re-occupied, raided, and freed by various forces. Two of the liberating forces are the Cockatrice Riders of Pascorel, and the Hardby Marines, both in 584 CY.[1]
Geography
[edit | edit source]Castle Sulafrait is about 30 miles nearly due west of Safeton.
After the invastion of the Pomarj north along the Wild Coast, Sulafrait is within the embattled border between the Empire and the Domain of Greyhawk. It is only about ten or twelve miles either north or south from the front lines of both.[3]
In Legends of Greyhawk
[edit | edit source]| This section contains content from the "Legends of Greyhawk" organized-play campaign. While it is officially published, and is approved by WotC, this content is based on the DMG 2024, and may differ from earlier publications. |
Little is known about Castle Sulafriat, other than rumors, and most people don't even know those. It is occupied in 576 CY by "mercenaries who serve a self-styled baron."[4]
Even though the Wild Coast uses many or most settlements in the area, it does not necessarily utilize every location on the Wild Coast in the premiers. Badwall is not (yet) used for adventures,[4] but it is referenced; as are Pascorel, and Castle Sulafrait.[2]

Those first three WC mods manage to touch on every significant settlement in the region except Badwall, but—here's a good confusing detail—not for everyone.
