Description

[edit | edit source]

"The Otobo Jungle is the easternmost jungle of Hepmonaland, split between the nations of Anatal, Jolan and Kevot. Most of the humanoids have been driven out of the central regions by the xenophobic Jolani. The Anatali are more accepting as long as the humanoids don’t attack human livestock or settlements, and the Kevoti have been too busy tending off sahuagin attacks to worry about a few humanoid tribes in their northern lands."[2]

The Otobo is comprised by all of the jungle between the uplands of the north/south Kelo-Kyalo line of hills and the coast of the Sea of Sharks. .

Ecology

[edit | edit source]

Flora

[edit | edit source]

In addition to the normal trees of the jungle, dangerous or carnivorous plants are known, like the mantrap.

Fauna

[edit | edit source]

The Otobo is one of the few places other than the Kabrevo Plain where rhinos and elephants are found.

The Otobo jungle has an abundance of dangerous animals. There are constrictor snakes like boas, and venomous or spitting snakes. Other creatures include animals of both normal and giant varieties like bats, jaguars, baboons, gorillas, and carnivorous apes. Giant insects like bees and ants are also common.[3]

Inhabitants

[edit | edit source]

The majority of the people of the Otobo are mostly Touv humans. They are found in and around their city-states—the Kevoti (southern), Jolani (central), and Anatali (northern).

Other humanoids can also be found in the Otobo, like beastfolk, bugbears, mongrelfolk, and tasloi. Few of these have developed civilizations of their own, however.

Features

[edit | edit source]

Both the Ibaz River and the Ake River flow eastward from out of the edge of the Kelo Hills. The Ibaz begins roughly at the northern tip of the hills near Tolanok, and proceeds east across the Otobo to the coast, passing Jolan along the way. While the Ake crosses the southern tip of the Otobo, and crosses out of the jungle to flow through the very nothernn edge of the Kabreevo Plain to the coast at Kevot.

Anatal, the capital of the same city-state, is at the northernmost end of the jungle, where the foothills of the Kyalo Hills meet the shorline.
