The Seldarine (Tel'Seldarine in the elvish language) is the pantheon of the elves, based primarily in the plane of Arborea, which they call Arvandor or Arvanaith. The name roughly translates as "the fellowship of brothers and sisters of the wood."[1] They view each other as a family, and they do not expect exclusive worship from their followers, amongst other deities of the pantheon.[1] While they are all close with one another, most of their interests are individual to each and they act on their own most times.[1] When situations need, however, they come together automatically, sensing "when something needs doing."[1]

They are drawn together by love, friendship, and interests, but they also have close allies outside the pantheon.[1] Worshippers of Skerrit the Forester (typically centaurs) are chief amongst those, and share as much religious tolerance as if they worship the Seldarine. Others include worshippers of leprechauns, pixies, and similar deities of woodland creatures.[1]

The Seldarine are led by Corellon Larethian.

"Few if any represent law, underground phenomena, violence without cause, warfare, and nonmammalian or non-avian life forms. One or two are concerned with death and dying, but they are peaceful, good-aligned deities and not the dark and evil types that pervade human pantheons."[1]

The Dark Seldarine is the name given to the fallen, evil deities of the subterreanean drow. They are not truly a pantheon in the same way the Seldarine are, though, as they do not co-operate. The Dark Seldarine are led by Lolth, whose power sometimes forces the others into obeying her.
