Description

[edit | edit source]

A great deal of mercantile traffic goes through Thornward. It is known for its trade between eastern Baklunish states and the rest of the Flanaess.

History

[edit | edit source]

The history of Thornward (and Bissel) is tied up in the convergence of East and West, with nearby Baklunish nations, and with the years of wars in the region.

People

[edit | edit source]

Population

[edit | edit source]

Though the total population of Thornward itself in 591 CY was 6,000, its population is larger due to the military presence in camps surrounding the city of 5,000 troops.

Religion

[edit | edit source]

Government

[edit | edit source]

The capitol of Bissel was moved away from Thornward to Pellak as a result of the "Thornward Division" and the city's governance was divided between four adjoining nations: Ket, Bissel, Gran March, and Veluna. As a result of previous wars, the maximum number of military troops in the area was limited to 6,000.
