The Bluff Hills are a rugged line of ridges and steep hills forming the western edge of the Griff Mountains and the northern border of the Bandit Kingdoms. A few bandit groups hide there c.585 CY+ resisting Iuz and Stonefist, most notably the clans of Grosskopf. They share the area with dangerous ogre tribes, making survival difficult. Though the region has small gold and copper deposits, they’ve never been profitable to mine; however, deep below, svirfneblin are rumored to know of far richer veins.[1]

[edit | edit source]Features and settlements
[edit | edit source]Groucester serves as the eastern watch over the Fellreev, and its commander, Priestess Xavendra, also monitors the Bluff Hills for mining or bandit activity. She commands a rare asset: a dozen trained griffons with warrior-riders from the Empire of Iuz who regularly patrol the Bluffs.[2]
Perdition is a significant active silver mine, with the only other mining efforts being a few small, struggling gnomish operations which are nearly defunct.[2]
Inhabitants
[edit | edit source]The folk of the Bluff Hills must contend with many giantkin; like hill giants, ogres, and trolls, as well as other various humanoids.[3]
