Grand Council of Greyhawk Guilds

The Grand Council of Greyhawk Guilds is an administrative body of guildmasters in the Free City, which holds meetings quarterly throughout the year. [1][2]
Description
[edit | edit source]The Grand Council is one of two councils convened quarterly to permit audience with the Directing Oligarchy.[1] The other is the Public Council.
The council is convened at the Lord Mayor's Palace in the High Quarter (sometimes called "City Hall").[1][3]
The majority of the reason for the council is to permit those guildmasters who do not have a seat on the Directing Oligarchy to be heard in matters pertaining to the administration of those guilds.[1][4] Additionally, business discussed is always related to "petitions and legislature" that would affect the guilds.[1][4]
Date and attendance
[edit | edit source]Every guildmaster in the city attends the meetings and their presence is compulsory. Meetings are held at the beginning of Fireseek, Planting, Reaping, and Patchwall. The meetings are traditionally held on the first of the month.[1][4]
However, the Patchwall meeting is immediately after the last day of Brewfest. There was some difficulty in insuring all guildmasters showed up sober.
"In 585 CY, Nerof Gasgal finally relented and moved the Grand Council to Patchwall 3rd, a Moonday, to everyone’s relief."[5]
