Luvern is crossroads town in what was formerly North Province in The Great Kingdom. The town is situated at the halfway point of multiple trade routes, which makes it strategically vital. The town is ruled with an iron fist by Prince Tharndorn, who uses the militia to quell civil unrest. [1]
Geography
[edit | edit source]Luvern is just to the northeast of Eastfair, near the head of the Trask River [2]. With Eastfair being on the Flanmi, this makes it the a key crossover point between the rivers for good traveling along them.
People
[edit | edit source]Notable individuals
[edit | edit source]Sir Berrensen Astraden is the leader of the Knights of Sun and Moon, who has been gathering members of the group in Luvern. He has a hereditary claim on the land, though it is weaker than Prince Tharndorn, and he believes that if he can gather significant evidence to take to Grace Grenell, he can oust Prince Tharndorn and be put in charge[1].
Economy
[edit | edit source]Luvern's key position means that trade is constantly flowing through the town. Unfortunately, the prince charges exceptionally high taxes, with the goal of extracting as much wealth as possible, which means that prices are exceptionally high, the vast majority of the population is exceptionally poor, and starvation is real and constant threat[1].
