The Quetzal River is a river in Hepmonaland, in the Centeo Jungle.
Description
[edit | edit source]"Although its origin is close to the dead city of Tolanok, this river seems perfectly healthy.[1] "
Ecology
[edit | edit source]There are all manner of jungle animals, but some notable ones are both gorillas, and carnivorous apes. There's also an enormous number of snakes and spider, or both normal and giant varieties.[2]
There are also many dangerous or even carnivorous plants, in addition to other native flora which may be poisonous or otherwise harmful. One is the thornslinger plant.[3]
Geography
[edit | edit source]The Quetzal River is one of two rivers feeding Tchlapac Lake. It flows out of the Kyalo Hills, about 205 miles southwest of the Tchlapac. Due to its many twists and turns the river is about 300 miles long. It runs northwest through the Centeo Jungle and empties into the lake.[4]
It gains speed in the hills and has carved a deep ravine in the lowlands.[1]
Inhabitants
[edit | edit source]Generally, the most common people inhabiting the Zolteo Jungle are humans of Olman culture. But the region is predominantly untouched rainforest, with only "tribes of humanoids, especially beastmen and tabaxi."[5]
There are also bugbears common in the area,[2]
Languages
[edit | edit source]Most humans near the Quetzal River speak the Olman language.
