The Fellands are one of the Bandit Kingdoms.
Description
[edit | edit source]The Fellands began as a warrior realm based in the town of Groucester.[1]
History
[edit | edit source]In 578 CY, this nascent realm is invaded (in addition to Grosskopf) by Tenh, after which a truce is made with Tenh, ceding lands east of the Zumker River to Tenh and ceasing raiding across the Zumker.[2] Later, the Fellands are absorbed by the clans of Grosskopf through diplomatic marriages in 581 CY. Like the rest of the Bandit Kingdoms, the Fellands falls under the rule of the Empire of Iuz during his conquest in 583 CY.[1]
Geography
[edit | edit source]The Fellands sits in the far northeastern Bandit Kingdoms between the Bluff Hills and Fellreev Forest.[3][4]
People
[edit | edit source]Following Iuz's takeover, rulership of the Fellands falls to his agent, the human cleric Xavendra, who reports to the regional capital, Rookroost. She is noted for a large human host in her circle, as opposed to the fiends and orcs common in Iuz's armies.[1]
Languages
[edit | edit source]As with other Bandit Kingdoms, Common is spoken here.[5]
Resources
[edit | edit source]Rumors and legends
[edit | edit source]It is believed that Xavendra may attempt to declare herself independent from Iuz's nation, should he become occupied with other matters in his realm.[6]
In Living Greyhawk
[edit | edit source]| This section contains content from the Living Greyhawk organized-play campaign. |
The Unofficial LG Bandit Kingdoms Summary by Casey Brown, discusses the significant NPCs in the Fellands during the Living Greyhawk campaign (2000-2008), including vampire servants of Xavendra, Viola and Veth. Xavendra and her minions disappeared following an explosion of negative energy in the Fellreev Forest, caused by That Which Slept. Groucester was cut off from the surrounding area by the explosion, which irradiated the landscape and killed almost all life. The townsfolk survived by hiding in the Outer Plane of Carceri, travelling through a gate in Xavendra's lab.
