The Highlander Castles are a series of castles along the Teesar Torrent which were built as a fortification against humanoid raids. The Imperial Highlanders are garrisoned in the castles.
History
[edit | edit source]After the Greyhawk Wars, (spring 585 CY), the Imperial Highlanders who control the Highlander Castles secede from the North Province and no longer serve the Overking (though they still refer to their organization as "imperial"), and the "Principality" of Highlander becomes independent.[1]
Government
[edit | edit source]Administrative divisions
[edit | edit source]The areas controlled by these castles form the basis of small principality in the North Province. The soldiers of the Highlanders are loyal to their leader, the Baron-General, rather than to the kingdom.[1]
The principality is governed, at least in name, by House Garasteth in 591 CY. "The capital is Redfalls, a great castle and military fortification on the Teesar River."[2]
