Way, way back in the good ole days of Oerth Journal #30 I wrote an adventure for you all and everyone titled “Who Watches the Watchers?” and thanks to Greyhawk Online it has been downloaded by almost 900 people! This exposure has been a great boon to my start into a hopeful career (or at least a lucrative side gig) into creating 5e content.

I have the intention of continuing the story of our villain, the Eldritch Knight known as Ephriam Argent, and present to you all part two of a trilogy, “Owner of a Broken Hart”. It seems that Ephriam has a penchant for surrounding himself with knights and wishes to corrupt any that he can to achieve power. If you play the adventure as I’ve written it, your players will receive a suspicious parcel containing a human heart, presumably no honorable hero would ignore something so gruesome and the investigation will lead the players into the heart of war-torn Furyondy to confront the miscreant responsible.

If you played the first adventure as part of running Ghosts of Saltmarsh then you can embark on a trip from the Salinmoor to the far-off realm of Furyondy, traveling further than Greyhawk itself to discover that Ephriam Argent isn’t quite as dead as you presumably made him at the end of “Who Watches the Watchers?”

The adventure will have your players square off with the forces of Iuz the Evil as they try and defeat the Eldritch Knight, now in the earliest stages of Lichdom, in his quest for power and vengeance. Can he be stopped before he turns the armies of Iuz towards Keoland?

Will you be able to stop him yet again and put an end to his machinations?

(Keep in mind I already said this was part 2 of a trilogy.)

I’ve been playing Dungeons & Dragons since I was about 8 years old. My half-brother introduced me to the game using some pre-2e material, even though 2e had just come out. I’ve been pretty into the game ever since, only really taking a break during 4e but mostly due to having gotten back into that other WotC game, Magic.

I have a lot of interest and love for all things fantasy but, I need your help to know more. While 3e’s core book was very Greyhawk focused, I actually know very little about the setting or it’s people, before Ghosts of Saltmarsh came out and before I volunteered to write “Who Watches the Watchers?” for Oerth Journal I only knew of the city of Saltmarsh from a map in one of the 3e companion books (DMG II).

Everything I know now is essentially things that I researched in order to make these adventures as authentic as possible. So, in order to help me out to get to know the setting you all love so much, why don’t you share with me what you like best about the Greyhawk setting or even just tell me about your characters or NPCs if you’re the DM.

Be aware, the download ZIP file contains many maps, in addition to two PDFs, and various appendices JPGs. It’s 2.9Mb and may take longer to download depending on your connection.
