Welcome to Greyhawkonline.com and its new refashioned look.

If I had to guess, there are many of us out there, I’m sure, who see this kind of thing every day. Movies “rebooting” a franchise, food packaged with “Now 10% MORE!”, items are “New and Improved!”, and on and on.

Well, the thing of it is … Greyhawk Online had begun to look a little dated. No. Strike that. It hadn’t begun to look dated. It was outdated! Quite frankly, it looked like it was designed in the 90s. Because, well, it was.

Screencap of the old GHO!
The Old Look of Greyhawk Online!

As you can see… for a long, long time, it was mostly just a list of links. Granted, all of those links were to the personal pages of fan-content creators for the most part, and every bit of it was hosted right there on Greyhawk Online … but, still.
While I’m saying “Greyhawk Online” … let’s make it easy: if you read “GHO”, let’s pretend I wasn’t lazy, and actually wrote-out the whole thing.

So, the new art, up at the top, there.
I created it, trying to keep in mind the previous logo, and the look of the art from products like City of Greyhawk and Greyhawk Adventures. I thought it was important to make the imagery feel familiar.

Gryphons on the old boxed sets!
Gryphon comparisons!

So, I decided to look at the old sources and wanted to use a gryphon which had been used before. I don’t know why, but, in my head, Greyhawk was always associated with gryphons.

Perhaps it’s because of the gryphon-riding patrols in the Abor-Alz, so near the Free City at the edge of the Domain of Greyhawk.

At any rate … there’s a lot going on that’s new, and such … keep an eye on GHO, and you’ll see more art like this, blogs, articles by both staff and guest fans, and links all over the web to Greyhawk stuff.
