Long-time readers will be familiar with the title of one of the greatest and longest running fanzines in fandom. It began in 1995 with two people: Steve B. “Tamerlain” Wilson, and a very talented young fella named Erik Mona, who later would become the Editor of Dragon Magazine, and even later, Publisher of the Pathfinder RPG, one of the powerhouses of the gaming industry.
Names like Rick “Duicarthan” Miller, Marc Tizoc González, Andrew Seale, Dennis “Argon” Lovatt, Nathan “Nellisir” Irving, and Tom “Blusponge” Harrison have pushed out the Oerth Journal over the years in increments of sometimes every season, sometime once a year. But, it was always there, and fans have always floated ideas around about what to put in the next issue.
Because Greyhawkonline has been the long-standing host and sponsor of the Oerth Journal, you can read all of the back issues of the Oerth Journal by downloading them straight from GHO!! There’s 27 issues, some of which, back in the day, were offered in “Printer Friendly” and “Tararasque Edition” copies. Nowadays, modern computers can more than handle the graphics that are in the OJ, there’s not need for plain text without images.

So, we only want to “create and share” the best-looking versions of the OJ, and make sure that’s what is offered here.
[[Update: January 29, 2019 15:32
Now there’s an even BETTER resource to use on the Oerth Journal page!!
We’ve added a SEARCHABLE INDEX DATABASE of all of the OJ issues, with article titles, authors, Volume and No., published date, and issue number!
You know how sometimes you forget where you found that one article? Like, “constellations”, for example! There’s a *great* article in OJ#22 by Andy Miller that’s all about the astrology of the Flanaess’ night sky!! Now, all you have to do is type “constellation” in the search bar, and you come up with “Constellations of Greyhawk – Andy Miller”!!
So, read up, Greyhawk Adventurers!! There’s mechanics, lore, fluff, and crunch that abounds, in the Oerth Journal! – GHO Editor]]
NOW … FOR THE BIG NEWS!!

The Oerth Journal will be publishing again, soon!
Greyhawk Online will be sponsoring the next issue of the Oerth Journal again!
What we’re going to do is publish articles right here on GHO, and let authors receive and read comments, allowing them to playtest it, tweak it, update it, whatever they like, and then when we’ve got a fair amount of articles, we’ll make a sort of Anthology and publish them together as an Oerth Journal.
This really isnt’ much different than the format before, but the difference is that previously readers had to wait three months or a year, or even five (when the Journal was on hiatus and between editors), to see new material written for Greyhawk.
Now, readers will get to see it as soon as an author submits it to GHO!! No more waiting for forever!! GHO plans on making the Oerth Journal almost an interactive thing, where the readers get to decide what the content of the OJ is, because they encourage others to write it, they help playtest it, give feedback on it, or they write it themselves!

SO!!!
Here’s the call for submissions!!
Visit the Oerth Journal page, and take a look at the article sections, and think of something that is your favorite topic, or the coolest idea for a magic item, NPC, spell, or equipment you’ve ever had! Or, the best home campaign alteration you’ve made to the setting! Or the coolest thing you’ve fleshed out that never had anything describing it, so you did it for your friends at home!
Whatever you like, can become an article!
Share it with other Greyhawkers! You don’t have to be a professional author! All you have to do its like Greyhawk! Get your idea out there, and let other people see it! That’s what GHO is all about!
See all those links in the main menu and the sidebar? That’s because people want to share their works, and they all look like a million different things! There’s lots of people out there that are willing to help edit and proofread, to make your work look and sound as presentable as it can!
And there’s artists, too!
There’s lots and lots of folks who’d like to be published for the first time, or like drawing illustrations that would put something in the corner of your article to depict your NPC, or magic item, or whatever.

So, think of something and put up a paragraph! It doesn’t even have to be long. A brief idea of a plot hook, description of a Trade Route, or just a two-sentence paragraph for a magic item.
Just contact us right here at GHO at the email in the footer, and we’ll put something up!
But, no matter what, “Create and Share the World of Greyhawk”!
There’s a reason that phrase is the tagline right up there at the top!
’til the Starbreak!
